Dry cough tastes like propane?

Yesterday I got this dry cough that lasted most of the day and I noticed that when I am coughing I taste propane. It's been a long time since I've had a dry cough and never noticed a wierd taste. Today I've only had the cough for about 15 minutes on two occasions. Any ideas why I taste propane?
