How bad will this be on my hair?

I've dyed my hair 5 times in the last 2 weeks (because it's either done nothing or turned my hair a ridiculous orange). I was going from a dark red to a blonde... and my hair is still orange. Well, my roots are blonde, but the rest is orange. I'm thinking just to dye it back since I'm not having any luck with the color. I'm really wary of dying it a sixth time, but i just want it to be back to normal. I've been letting my conditioner stay in an extra 2 minutes longer than I normally do to help moisturize my hair. But, I just want some input if this would be the best idea. I don't make alot of money and have already spent way too much money, so going to a salon is not an option for me. does anybody have a particular brand and/or color that you think would be best?
