Im thinking of getting some 17" alloy wheels for my car? peugeot 306?

Would i have to make any adjustments to my wheel arches etc. if i were to get 17", i know i will need spacers but didnt know if i would need to trim the arches or not, im searching for someone who knows about these things, or has got a 306 with 17's on? cheers
