Question about our generation.?

I have heard that my generation is least likely to suceed as well as generations in the past (I am thirteen years old). I always thought I was to young to worry about this until I read a book about famous scientists and their contributions. I realized people like Galileo, Shakespeare, Newton, Socrates, and many others started their works at my age or even earlier. I am pretty gifted (I scored a 186 on the PSATs), but nothing special. So this led me to wonder am I wasting my time playing video games and talking to friends and wasting time and start learning anything so I can make MY contribution? I was just wondering if anyone shared my point of view.
